Entering ICT in Biology class for first time made me wonder, what kind of new technology will i learn. However, the briefing given by my lecturer Dr. Sopia Md. Yassin make me clear about the subject, that we are not only learn the usage of ICT in biology but also, how to teach effectively using ICT, including making the lesson plan and so on.

The most attractive explaination given by Dr. Sopia in our first class of ICT in Biology is about interactive white board or IWB also called smart board, a technology by SMART company. At first, i thought that, it is not much different using powerpoint presentation and presentation using IWB since both are connected to computer. However, this Smart Board is really "smart" since it have advantage that is more hand friendly compare to powerpoint.

How does an IWB works? well, as i said before, it almost similar with powerpoint presentation, however, it function like a touch screen gadget where we can just click on the board, or write or delete or any other function and it will also be done in the computer or laptop. So, if powerpoint presentation, we cannot easily edit the slideshow of the presentation on the board where it is shown, but, using IWB we can just stand beside the board and edit it. So, it is more hand friendly, more effective and attractive as a teaching and learning aid gadget.
